This year’s bocce ball championship was one for the history books. It started with ice cream for the crowd and the competitors. Once everyone was settled in, the test of might between Tony Nisse and Kevin Foutz began. It started with an early lead for Kevin, but then Tony came back with a sudden burst of energy to tie the score. For the next few rounds the two stayed within just a couple points of one another. Locked in this stalemate the two surpassed the 15 points that most games are played to, battling to heights not reached by common bocce ball players. Just when it seemed that neither could triumph over the other, Kevin suddenly broke ahead and emerged as the great victor of the OIT Bocce Ball Championship. With this feat, he joined the other legends of history on the back of the coveted trophy of champions. Both contenders put on a great performance, and we would like to congratulate both of them on a fine game. Thank you to everyone who worked behind the scenes to make this possible!
