It is a good day when you get tacos. That’s why so many people were happy to attend our Cinco de Mayo fiesta! We had fun games, lots of food, and some tasty treats to finish the meal on a high note. It was a great way to enjoy the warm weather, and to connect with new friends. We had a few lawn games like bean bag toss, ladder toss, or horseshoes if anyone wanted to try their hand at them. Whatever you were in the mood for, you could find it at the fiesta.
So how do you say it? Po-tay-to or po-tah-to? Whatever the answer you gave, it would not be a reason to call off the OIT potato bar! You would miss out on too much. This year’s potato bar was here just in time for some warm weather. We had potatoes with toppings to spare. It was a tasty treat to get in the right mood for St. Patrick’s Day. After the meal you could enjoy a St. Patrick’s Day themed crossword puzzle, or learn some trivia about the holiday. We hope to be able to see all of you at the next potato bar!
I love pancake parties. Almost everyone has memories of waking up as a child, excited to eat a heaping plate of Mom’s homemade pancakes. Maybe it was chocolate chip, blueberry, or even red velvet. Whatever the variation was, they were sure to quickly disappear. We decided that a pancake party would be a great way to celebrate February (who needs chocolate anyway?) and show our appreciation for the wonderful employees that work here. We made sure there were many delicious pancakes for our employees to enjoy. It was a time to bond over great tasting food. While it wasn’t pancake day, that was on the 28th, it was still a fun celebration!
Every great football game starts with a great tailgate party. This year we started celebrating BYU’s homecoming game with our first office tailgate! We grilled polish dogs and shared some football trivia. Even though it was a little chilly, many employees braved the weather to play volleyball, corn hole, and horseshoes. Of course, the best part was going to watch the game afterward. It was a close game, but we managed to come out on top during double overtime. Go Cougs!
The dust is finally settling. For the last few months, the IT building has been undergoing a humongous construction project. This was due to the steady growth of the organization. During the process, many employees were inconvenienced and had to move spaces and work around temporary closures of rooms in the building. To show our appreciation and gratitude for our employees’ patience during this time we threw a party which included lunch; lots of games, like volleyball and horseshoes; and a chance to socialize with friends and coworkers. Everyone had a great time celebrating together.
