The 2016 ice cream social was a time of tasty treats and fun memories. There were gallons of ice cream with a variety of toppings, games, and the bocce ball championship game. It was a time for all employees to take a break and socialize. Everyone had fun celebrating the end of summer with this event. The bocce ball tournament is one of the most popular events at OIT, with over 70 participants this year. The competitors come from different departments, and can be a student or a full-time employee. Everyone is welcome to participate. Beginning in June, and lasting until August, employees will play a series of games to see who will emerge as the champion. During this time, everyone will have a chance to meet new people and make new friends. We hope that the team building and unification of OIT are hastened through this event. Let’s not forget, this is the best place to work!
On Tuesday, May 17th, OIT had its first town hall meeting. The meeting was held so that all of OIT could learn about current issues together and have the opportunity to ask their managers questions that would be pertinent to the organization.
The topic of this first town hall meeting were to discuss the results of the employee engagement survey that had recently been conducted. Overall the responses to the survey were positive, and many employees feel positively about working here.
Following the presentation there was an opportunity for any employee to ask any question. The questions ranged from what to put in the coke machine, to how career development works. It was a wonderful meeting, with great benefits.
